Well, first I live in a suburban area where I used the indoor tv antenna, but I did use it in my room and without the booster on I was able to pick up great signal from transmitter towers from about 40 miles away and also from 60 miles away but surprisingly there was one transmitter tower that was over 120 miles away and was able to pick up the signal but there were some dropouts and it was used with the booster. But for inside an apartment building, I would suggest trying to search for local towers in your area and where you should point the antenna to get best reception and try to not point it to a wall however the build in booster will help with that. But before I purchased my antenna I have calculated the distance and the direction before purchase to see if it would have a chance to work. So calculate then buy.
One thing should be highlighted that I just put it on the window and then we get 39 free channel, The screen is HD. Before buying the antenna, I don’t believe such a small thing would bring us such a big surprise. Now I am very impressed with Kingbox 60 miles antenna. I didn’t expect much of it, but actually very useful. If you are not familiar with this tech you would be wondering how on earth it works with such a small form factor!
We decided to buy one more for our another TV. This is a very nice investment. Pay less than $30 but can save about $100 per month. A great deal!
If you decide to pick up one, but confusing that how to set up, no worry, follow my word and you will find it very easy to finish all the steps.
Set up guide:
Step 1: Connect the end (F- male) of attached coaxial cable to the ANT/IN connector on the back of the TV or DVB-T tuner.
Step 2: You can put it on the wall, on the table or on the window (strongly recommended). Place it horizontally or vertically.
Step 3: In the TV’s or STB’s setup menu, set the tuner mode to “Antenna” or “Air”. For more detailed instructions, please refer to your TV manual.
Step 4: In the TV’s or STB’s setup menu, set TV to “scan” for channels. This can sometimes be listed as auto-program,auto-scan, channel search or channel scan. Consult the TV manual for detailed instructions.
Step 5: If the reception is sporadic, try moving the antenna to another location and rescanning the TV until an optimal position is found.
Step 6: Fix the antenna at the optimal position you found.
Note:
1. If you use a flat HDTV, pls go through your TV manual to make sure your TV is with built-in tuner for freeview
2. You should retune your Freeview TVs and digital boxes from time to time to ensure you are receiving all available services. Returning takes only a few minutes and can be done with your remote control
3. Make sure your tuner is HD tuner, otherwise you can’t watch HD channels
4. The signal quality determines how many channels you can get as well as the picture quality. After you get this antenna, hook it up to your TV, and try to find the best point to place the antenna, you can get more HD channels than you think you would.
